New skid plate

Installed my new Tusk Full Chassis Skid Plate on the 400 this weekend. The skid plate did not come with any directions, it wasn't a big deal, just took a minute to figure out how the clips attached to the frame of the quad. I can tell you that Tusk needs to add longer bolts. The bolts that hold on the small front plate are about 1/2" short. With some help from my brother-in-law, we put the plates on in about 15 minutes. Now I just need to get a swing arm guard. Ride RED!

Bundy Hill 2012

Another video from last year at Bundy Hill Offroad Park in Jerome Michigan. I had a great time at the park last year, a bit dusty, but a cool place to ride.

Cabin Fever!!!!

The weather here in Michigan can't make up its mind. Yesterday the sun was out one minute, and then it was raining, only to be snowing in the same breath. I am way overdue to get out and do some riding. My brother-in-law and I have been wrenching getting our quads ready to RIP, and I can't wait to see what my new machine can do out in some trails. I’m really hoping for some warmer weather with less rain. Ride RED!

Hidden Gem in Lower MI.

Here's an overhead view of our local stomping grounds. Bundy Hill Off Road Park is located in Jerome Michigan. The park is great, and offers a variety of terrain for the hardcore weekend warrior to beginners and kids. The park’s no drug or alcohol policy makes for a fun safe place to ride. On any given day you can see dirt bikes, side-by-sides, three wheelers, quads (sport & utility), rock crawlers, boggers, and jeeps. The park does offer camping on various days throughout the season, and on weekends you can usually catch some sort of organized competition. If you’re in Michigan and looking for a place to do some four wheeling, I recommend hitting up Bundy Hill Off Road Park in Jerome.

Time to RIDE!

As the temps warm up outside, I'm itching to get out and ride. My hope this year is to get out and venture on some new trails. I know lower Michigan offers some awesome riding. I will definitely be hitting up Bundy Hill in Jerome, and I found a set of trails that look pretty good near Muskegon. I would also like to get up to the property in Roscommon. Well, I have a lot of riding I'd like to do this year, so I'll have to update as the adventures take place.

2013 Honda 400x Review

Well I finally went out and bought myself a new quad. After doing my homework and seeing them in action, I went with the 2013 Honda TRX400x. I haven't had a lot of time on it yet, but the times I have been able to get out and rip on it have made me a believer. I wasn't a big fan of the pointy fenders at first, but they are growing on me. I like how Honda has made the fenders separate pieces instead of two big bulky pieces, this will make it nice if you happen to break a fender. You can now replace pieces of the fenders instead of buying a whole front or rear bumper. I love the fact that the quad has reverse, comes in real handy on trails. So far the quad seems to have plenty of power, and with all the mods available, you can get these things to hang with the 450's out there. The stock suspension seems to be a bit tight, but there are adjustments that can be made to help it ride to your individual liking. The headlight seems to be nice and bright with a high and low beam setting. The stock muffler is pretty quiet, so if you are looking to have your machine roar! you will need an aftermarket pipe. The only thing I would like to see on these quads would be a kick start, batteries and starters don't last forever. All in all, after about 4 hours of ride time, I would give the 400x 4 out of 5 stars (losing 1 star because of no kick start). Ride RED!

Spring is here!

It was a good weekend to get out and do some riding. Took the 400 out and was able to get some cool shots with the Gopro2. Ride RED!
