Playing in the snow

Finally!.... I was able to get out on the old V-Max and play in the snow. The temps were climbing to near 40 degrees and the snow was getting heavy, but the V-Max handled it great. The machine may be old, but it's still a load of fun bouncing through the fields at 60+ MPH.....

Finally, some decent snow in Michigan!!

We finally have some decent snow here in Michigan. Although the temps have been frigid, it's great to see more than a dusting of snow. Many parts of Michigan ended up with over a foot of the white stuff, and I can't be more excited. I'll finally be able to get the old V-Max out and bang through some fields. Salmon Trip 2013

It time for the annual trip to Benzonia Michigan to try our luck on the Betsie river. The weather is going to be a little warm, but I'm hoping to finally land a Monster. Updates as they come in....

Up North with Family

Had another great time in Cadillac Michigan hanging with family. It was good to see family I only see once a year. The weather could have been a bit warmer, but overall it was good. Aunt Linda and Mom went sailing again, and Gina called me out again & lost! Tried fishing lake Mitchell, but we did more drinking than fishing. Much thanks to Eric for all the hospitality & liver damage. Looking forward to next year!

Update

Getting some time in to ride has been a bit more difficult than I had hoped. The weather has been great, life just keeps popping up. I just picked up a 1982 Yamaha Seca XJ550 motorcycle, so I'm hoping I can put some miles on that this summer/ early fall. The bike was a gift from my brother, and it's in great shape considering it's 31 years old. After draining out the old stale gas from the tank, and cleaning the carbs, the bike runs awesome! It's my first street bike, so it should be interesting....

If anyone owns or has owned one of these bikes, please feel free to leave comments and let me know any tips, tricks, or cautionary tales.

Bring on Summer!

Now that the weather has turned for the better, it's time to get out and RIDE. Michigan offers some great places to ride in the spring and summer months. I've found the best way to get over the winter blues or cabin fever, is to get out and RIDE!

The 400x is really starting to impress me, it handles great. It could use a bit more initial power, and that will come with future mods. I really have no complaints so far. I think everyone should RIDE RED!

Spring Bike Ride

Finally was able to get the mountain bike out and do some riding. It's great to get out and cruse around. It's pretty crazy how much of our surroundings we miss when driving. Being out on a bike gives me a chance to really look around and see where I live.
